Welcome to Fr. Howe's
Classes
| Introduction
to the Bible: The purpose of the class
is to give the student a working knowledge of the Bible.
Initial classes
deal with the
formation of the Bible from oral tradition, early Jewish and
Christian views of the Bible, translations, and interpretations.
The bulk of the course deals with the text itself, looking
at
the context in which each book was written, and how that text
plays out the overall theme of the ongoing relationship between
God and his people. |
