Course Description: This course is an introduction to Physics and Chemistry with an emphasis in the practical application of concepts and problem solving using scientific methods. In the first semester, we will concentrate on the basics of chemistry. The second semester will be devoted to physics. Students’ proficiency will be assessed using written exams, laboratory experiments, group and individual projects, as well as frequent quizzes. Students will be expected to supplement class notes by reading the textbook and completing all assigned homework.
