Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Episcopal is proud to announce that seven students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Five students qualified as semifinalists in the National Merit competition when, as juniors at Episcopal, they took the PSAT/NMSQT. These students are: Erica Grilletta, daughter of Trent and Ann Massengale and Xavier and Claudette Grilletta; Haley Johnson, daughter of Frederick and Derren Johnson; Robyn Jones, daughter of Terry and Katherine Jones; Caitie Miller, daughter of David and Renee Miller; and Taylor Peak, son of Craig and Libby Peak.

In addition, two students were recognized as Commended Scholars for their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. They are: Colin Baldridge, son of Charles and Betty Baldridge , and Adam Grenier, son of Dr. Christopher and Andrea Grenier.

Episcopal has had 18 students recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program in the last two years. More than 1.4 million juniors from nearly 21,000 high schools entered the National Merit Program. As semifinalists, students have an opportunity to compete for some 8,200 merit scholarship awards worth approximately $33 million that will be offered next spring.
