Updates & Announcements: Parents’ Guild Takes the Field for 2008-09 Season! Be A Part Of Our TEAM! Although life on campus is fairly quiet right now, the Team Captains and their volunteer ‘players’ have been hustling around organizing various projects for the Parents Guild. The school year ended with our Summer Book Fair at Barnes and Noble and the Summer Used Uniform Sale and Road Sale are on the horizon! Preparation for the New Student and New Parent Socials are underway! New Parent Liaisons are busy contacting our new families to welcome them to ‘OUR TEAM’! We have been busy this summer adding all the names of volunteers…both new and old...to our Playbook. If you are interested in joining this great group of TEAM players, contact Charlotte Murrell: charlotte@hughes.net or Cheryl Kirchoff: cherylkirchoff@yahoo.com and we will definitely get you in the GAME! We have over 175 volunteer players on the TEAM which reaffirms just how vital and strong this organization is! We are excited about the upcoming year and leading the Parents’ Guild through another winning season! Please use this current website page for updated information until the new website is ready for use. Demonstration of the new website will be available to parents on Picture Day. A new Parents’ Guild Directory will be available ON Picture Day. The new directory will include email addresses and cell phone numbers and will be offered in a small, convenient size. Be on the lookout for information and pre-order forms in the mail during early July 2008. Cost is $10 for one and $15 for two. QUESTIONS? CONTACT Robin Kilpatrick, PG Website/Communications Coordinator PARENTS' GUILD ANNUAL MEETING Annual Parents Guild Meeting Monday, May 05, 2008 The Annual Parents’ Guild meeting was held today in the VPAC from 11am to 1pm and the Wish List Proposals were voted upon. We would like to congratulate the following groups of people for their proposals that received enough votes to receive funding:US Social Studies - Social Studies Moves from 18th Century to the 21st Century (up to $10,400) Parents’ Guild – Online “Store” Software Piece compatible with new WhippleHill website (up to $2850) Science Department - Eco-Bus: Traveling Science Lab on Wheels (up to $13,280) LS Technology – Neo 2 Smart Option Mobile Lab (up to $7990) US French - Smart Boards for Smart Students (up to $3430) Second Grade Classroom Makeover (up to 6,950) For a total of $44,900 We were not able to fund the following items: Art Department - ComDesign Software – up to $11,450 LS Spanish - Mounted Projector with a Remote Slide Advancer – up to $2060 Art Department – Art Horses – up to $1390 (This has been privately funded by an EHS parent) School Event Chair & Table Upgrade – up to $4770 Logo Imprinted Table Covers - $980 Parents who would like to help support the non-funded items can see Jody Kennard in the Development Office.
